Parents & Students,

Hey, I just wanted to write a quick note to let you know some of the details concerning LifeGroups for this new year. (LifeGroups- are small group Bible studies, where students Connect, Grow, and Share) LifeGroups will begin the week of Sunday, September 13th.

Once again, LifeGroups will give you the opportunity to grow in your faith, and deepen your relationships with other students and leaders. Our weekend services are too large to get to know people in a personal and intimate way, and LifeGroups are the place where our large group becomes smaller. It's also a place where you can pray for one another, talk about the Bible, life in general, and concerns . . . whatever (including hang-out together at special events!).

However, something we will initiate this year during Sunday morning services are ”Discussion Groups or D-Groups.” Here's the format: at the end of each service you will join with a few other students (at your grade level) and discuss 5-questions concerning the morning message. One of our adult leaders will help facilitate the discussion which will last no more than 10 minutes. This is to be a time for you to get to know other students, and so our guests can make a connection with leaders and other students. Questions will be fairly simple and designed to get you talking.

So, whaddaayaasay? I really want you to join a LifeGroup. I'd love to see you invloved! If you're looking for a Bible study and a small group, then you'll love it. There's something pretty cool about being around people, and the Bible explains it pretty well in Proverbs 27:17. Here are some additional details:

Here are some additional details:

  • You can sign-up for a LifeGroup during the morning services by filling out a LifeGroup Registration Card.  Or, you can email Becci.

  • Students will provide their own transportation to and from groups. Students can be dropped-off 15-minutes prior to the scheduled meeting time, and picked-up 15-minutes after. We greatly appreciate our small group leaders, and value the time they are giving to work with our students.

  • This year we will begin a 3-year journey through the Bible using a new curriculum called Fuel. Fuel uses "VJs", creative video "sparks", man-on-the-street interviews, and lessons taught by national youth communicators. Fuel is designed to cover the complete biblical narrative in chronological order by presenting 96 of the major stories of the Bible. After this 3-year study, we will continue with Fuel2 which covers 96 key biblical doctrines. Again, through experienced communicators and videos that challenge the thinking of students, Fuel2 guides students in knowing what they believe. Through a systematic, yet highly innovative study, students will be able to articulate and apply the key doctrines of the faith, helping to shape and encourage their developing worldview.

I am excited about what God has planned to do in your life this year, and I believe joining a small group will contribute to His working. Call or e-mail me if there is anything I can do to help you.

Scott
